Keyboard Shortcuts

Open search, move between core pages, switch locations, and save or submit faster.

circleOS has a small set of global keyboard shortcuts designed for the actions you repeat throughout the day.

Most of the navigation shortcuts use Option on Mac and Alt on Windows or Linux. The command bar uses Cmd on Mac and Ctrl on Windows or Linux.

Command bar

ShortcutAction
Cmd+K (Mac) / Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux)Open the Search & Command Bar

From the command bar you can search records, run page actions, open docs and profile shortcuts, and ask Circle Intelligence questions.

ShortcutAction
Cmd+Shift+D (Mac) / Ctrl+Shift+D (Windows/Linux)Open the diagnosis search dialog in supported note and visit contexts

This shortcut only works where diagnosis search is enabled, such as supported note and visit flows.

Jump to core pages with Option on Mac or Alt on Windows/Linux:

ShortcutPage
Option/Alt+HHome
Option/Alt+PPatients
Option/Alt+BBookings
Option/Alt+CCalendar

Locations

Switch your active location without opening the location menu:

ShortcutAction
Option/Alt+1 through Option/Alt+9Switch to locations 1-9 in the location switcher
Option/Alt+0Clear the location filter and show all locations

The numbers match the order shown in the location switcher menu.

ShortcutAction
Option/Alt+SToggle the sidebar open or closed

On smaller screens this opens the sidebar as a drawer overlay instead of collapsing the desktop rail.

Calendar

ShortcutAction
Option/Alt+NCreate a draft event at the current time on the selected day in Calendar

Submit and save

Many editors and dialogs support a quick submit shortcut:

ShortcutAction
Cmd+EnterSubmit or save on many supported screens
Ctrl+EnterWorks on many non-Mac screens, but support is still not universal

This is used in places such as plan creation, document creation, document uploads, lab orders, and some dialogs or editors.

Support is still intentionally uneven. Many newer screens listen for Cmd+Enter and Ctrl+Enter, but some older flows still rely on the Mac-style shortcut path. In particular, the notes editor and some patient-form flows do not yet offer the same Ctrl+Enter fallback everywhere.

When a screen supports a save shortcut, the save or submit button often shows the hint nearby.
